Celebrating Diwali, 2023

The Steel Yard, 3-16 Allhallows Ln, London EC4R 3UE

8th November 2023

7pm – 12am

Our biggest and brightest Diwali yet

On Wednesday 8th November 2023, you are warmly invited to join us at The Steel Yard from 7pm until midnight for a night of dancing and deliciousness. Our friend, the creative marvel Almass Badat, has curated a most diverting array of South-Asian performers to help you dance the night away under the lights of the main auditorium.

The festival of light is almost here and tickets for our biggest and brightest Diwali event yet are now on sale. We have asked our friend, the exceptionally talented Almass Badat to curate a line-up of musical acts, and you will find this explosion of South Asian talent under the lights of the Steel Yard’s cavernous main auditorium.

Dance the night away, stopping whenever you require rest and sustenance to wander to adjacent rooms. There you can enjoy drinks, a plentiful vegetarian meal of Dishoom favourites, and intricate mehndi. When fully refuelled, you can pass by our fully stocked bar for a chilled beer, icy soda, or enlivening chai, before rejoining the dance floor.

A line-up of South Asian talent to delight

The night will be hosted by Huddersfield-born broadcaster Harpz Kaur– who will keep things going with insightful anecdotes, fun moments and her trademark warmth. Brothers Harrisan and Anushan Mohanarajah – also known as 2Flutes – will present a Carnatic-inspired medley through ragas and harmonies. DJ, broadcaster and writer, Haseeb Iqbal’s curated, strictly vinyl set of Pakistani Cinema, Kollywood, funk and global sounds will keep you on your toes. Eternal Taal, an all-women entertainment team will present a blend of dhol, dance and DJ, alongside show-stopping talent from London's Cabaret Bollywood dance scene, BollySass. And, of course, expect a legendary DJ set of big hits and dancefloor classics from DJ Ritu & Sanj J Sanj as these pioneers of the South Asian music scene go back-to-back.

Tickets include entrance, complimentary House Chai, and a plentiful vegetarian (and vegan) feast. Should you have any access requirements in order to attend this event, please let us know by emailing us on hello@dishoom.com
